Although I may own the HVAC company, that doesn’t mean I don’t still do some work
I loved my parents, but it was days like this when I wanted to know whose bright idea it was for me to be an HVAC technician? Did they know how many sleepless nights I would have while out repairing someone’s furnace or air conditioning? Did they realize how many people I would come in contact with who were angry because I couldn’t repair their furnace or air conditioning unit? Did they even think that I wanted HVAC as a career? I have these thoughts every once in a while. Most of the time I love being an HVAC technician. There are those sleepless nights when it seems like everyone has emergencies that require immediate attention and I am the only person who can do the repairs. I hate those nights. Even if I had been up all night, I still needed to go to work in the morning. I didn’t have a choice but to go to work in the morning. I had to open the office and get things prepared for the day. My wife would get all the service orders prepared and in the other HVAC technician’s slots. I loved owning the HVAC company and I enjoy working. When there are more night emergencies than the HVAC technician on duty can handle, I go out on them. Although I may own the HVAC company, that doesn’t mean I don’t still do some work. I work just as hard as any other HVAC technician in our company and I’m proud to say that. I think that’s the reason I have such a good working environment.
