A Breakdown of My HVAC System Tune Ups

Hiring an HVAC professional every 6 months or so has become normal for me. I like to have an HVAC professional look at my furnace and air conditioning unit because they are trained to see things that I cannot. I don’t even try to pretend like I know what I’m doing, nor do I want to. There’s also the added responsibility and pressure to not create any unwanted heat and air issues by attempting to do something myself. While I love and trust the HVAC company that I use to service my HVAC system, part of me has always wondered what they actually do to service my HVAC system. The HVAC professional always tells me that everything looks good and that I shouldn’t have any issues running my furnace or air conditioner, but I never know what that actually means. Because I like knowing what’s happening, I asked the HVAC company if they could send me a detailed list of everything they were doing during the tune ups. To my surprise, the HVAC company was able to send me a detailed list of absolutely everything they checked during my past 3 HVAC tune ups! The list included things like coil cleaning, ductwork maintenance, air filter replacement, heat exchanger inspection, thermostat testing. There were a ton of other things they checked too, which made me feel so much better about continuing my HVAC servicing twice per year. I’m glad that I asked the HVAC company for the detailed list and I’m going to continue doing it.
