A noisy dual fuel system

I was woken up in the middle of a summer night by a roaring sound.

  • Upon investigation, I discovered that it was my heat pump.

The roaring sound was so loud that I could not even get some sleep. I tried switching it off and on, but the noise continued. And switching the entire dual fuel system off was not an option. Tonight was a hot night. I could not bear the heat. I even tried to clean the washable filter, but the noise continued. The thermostat had also stopped working. In the morning, I called the a/c install provider so they could send an a/c rep to check on the air conditioning system. The technicians ran a heat pump service which revealed that the compressor was broken and needed to be a replacement. The regulator has also required replacement. The cooling products provider was kind enough to sell these components at a discounted rate. The a/c workman suggested that I consider having an indoor air cleaning system. They advised that this unit would improve the air purification help if the quality HVAC equipment went through a/c care at least twice a year. The a/c setup took a couple of hours, including replacing the air conditioning filter, but it was all worth it. At least now, the unit was just a whisper. I could sleep so well that night that I woke up with a long positive review on the page. Even though I had taken the air conditioning installation seriously, this issue had risen from practically nowhere. Still, I’m glad we were able to solve it before it became a big issue. Even with high SEER ratings, a/c repair is unavoidable, although most are preventable.
