Adding to my air conditioning strategy

I’m sort of surprised by just how into saving on air conditioning I really am.

This time of year is the time I start pulling together the new plan when it comes to cooling my house.

For years after I moved down here, I sort of just let the air conditioning do its thing. I figured since I wasn’t paying heating bills of any real consequence, I’d just let the cooling costs run wild. But that’s really not a very solid plan by any stretch of the imagination. Those costs quickly started adding up and it seemed like such a waste of money. So I started to do some looking into just how I could save on those cooling costs. All I had to do was go online to the HVAC company website. That’s where I found all the help and guidance I needed to get started on my air conditioning strategy. But as the years have passed and the savings on cooling costs have stacked up, I’m finding new ways to add to the savings. For sure, I start with the basics. That’s an air conditioning tune up, sealing up the house and stopping the direct sunlight heating affect. From there, it’s always about thermostat consistency to make all the other efforts worth while. But over the years, I’ve added different and new ways to save on cooling costs. The focus this year is to stop heating up the house in the summer with appliances like the oven, stove and dryer. So I’ll be doing much of my cooking on the grill and hanging the laundry out when I can. My wife doesn’t think I’m up to it but I really am.
