I almost had a car accident today.
It was horribly hot and even in my own car, I could feel sweat beginning to bead on my forehead.
I tried to ignore the growing heat by rolling down my windows, but that just blew in horribly hot air. My car was now feeling like a furnace, and I briefly looked down from the road to mess with the a/c in my car. Just as I pushed the air conditioning button, I looked up to see an animal run in the middle of the road and I swerved to avoid it. I lost control of the car and went spinning off of the road. My car stopped short of a tree, and I sat in shock at what just happened. It took me a few minutes to process what happened, and I looked around for damage, thankfully there was none. I made sure my air conditioning unit was on all of the way, and pulled back onto the road. Even though my car was not damaged, and I was not hurt, I was still in shock at what happened, and my mind instantly went to all of the worst case scenarios. I was incredibly thankful that I was still alive and uninjured as I drove back home. My husband was already home from work as a HVAC technician. He told me about fixing some of the heating and cooling units, and how he hates his HVAC company and wishes to move to another HVAC business. II told him about what happened. He told me that he has been close to multiple accidents constantly driving out to fix other people’s a/c units, and he has gotten used to it. This was my first ever close call and I won’t be forgetting it anytime soon.
