I never thought I’d see the day when I would call the cooling corporation for emergency services.
I always found the idea funny because who would call them for air conditioning maintenance in an emergency? I did not think it possible that HVAC equipment issues would be an emergency until it happened to me.
My mini split air conditioner stopped blowing air, and my house became an oven on a hot night in the summer. My son, then only one, kept crying in distress from the heat, and after three hours of thinking that we would make it through the night, I called the cooling company for emergency air conditioning repair. It was 2:00 am, and I needed urgent help with indoor comfort. I was lucky to get a cooling representative shortly after my call because it was a busy night for them. I explained what had happened so they would come prepared to handle the issue. I repented for all the times I mocked the emergency service and thought of other homeowners as careless with their quality air conditioner installations. I now knew what got them there. Lucky for us, the issue was minor, and the air conditioner was up and running within a short time of the cooling specialist tinkering with it. I was afraid that it was a significant issue that would have us wait again until the next day because my child had become inconsolable. I say tinkering because I have no clue about the cooling industry, and the cooling tech took such a short time sorting the issue that I have no other way to describe the magic. That experience taught me more about air conditioning emergencies and why we all need them.
