Finally getting a quality air conditioner in my tiny living house

When I bought my tiny house, I was curious how I’d get help with indoor comfort.

It was a leap of faith because I didn’t want to rent, but I could not afford a big house.

I started without an air conditioner and lived for three years until the heat started getting unbearable during summer. I grew up in a home where we just opened our windows, and when that didn’t work, we used a fan, but it was rare because we needed to save every coin we had. I needed to buy HVAC equipment, but I needed to figure out where to start. Thankfully, the internet exists, and I could search for cooling options for a tiny house and learn more about air conditioning within a few hours. I went into research mode and got out of it, convinced that a mini split air conditioner would be the right option to help with indoor comfort. I wanted to purchase a one-off from Amazon, but a cooling tech replied to my question on Reddit and told me to find a cooling specialist before making any hasty decision. Given how much a quality air conditioner costs, I was unwilling to fumble and buy the wrong one, which would be a waste of money. My best bet was to get the right equipment from the cooling corporation and possibly find a professional cooling representative to guide me through installation. But I was afraid it would be beyond my budget. At the same time, I’m not good at DIY projects, so it was a high probability that doing it for myself would mean air conditioning repair a while later. So, I walked to one of the cooling industry shops in our area and booked for installation. It was the best decision I ever made because they even offered me one free air conditioning maintenance visit in the first year after installation.
