Get outside of the air conditioning

I hate it when this time of year rolls around and so many of the people I know retreat and hide inside the central air conditioning of their homes. But that’s what happens when Summer rolls around down here. It gets steamy hot and most folks just stay inside with the air conditioning pumping. I spend the peak heating hours of the day inside the commercial HVAC of my office where it’s quite comfortable. At home, I’m a bit more strict when it comes to Summer thermostat settings. Actually, I program the thermostat so it stays near or just above 80 during the worst of the heat. But as I’m coming home, the heat pump will crank up just a bit. Once I’m home, the cooling creeps down just the least bit more so we are sleeping at a comfortable 76 degrees in the house. So I totally need residential HVAC just like everyone else. While that’s so true, I just don’t allow myself to be captive to the air conditioning for four months straight. That’s why I get up well before dawn each morning to enjoy some time outside prior to heading off to the zone controlled HVAC of the office. And then, in the evening, I slip back out to enjoy the cooler evenings. I just hate the fact that so many folks are missing out on all this area has to offer during our Summer. For sure, it’s a good idea to be inside with some cooling comfort during the peak heating hours. Getting out of the central air conditioning during the cooler parts of the day is essential though.
