Heating tech and living a life of illusion

The other day when I was talking to my friend on the beach telling him how sad I was about things that happened in my life he told me something that created a shift in me.

  • He told me that all of this we see in front of us is just an illusion, almost like a very real virtual reality game of sorts, and that we don’t need to be so attached to the storyline of it all.

It made me realize that I don’t need to suffer from what I see in front of me, but just notice it instead. HVAC equipment breaking down during a very hot day can seem like more than an illusion to most, especially if your air conditioner stops on a 100F day, but if we can zoom out and look at it from an observer’s standpoint we may not be so negatively impacted by it. Sure, it isn’t fun to be sweating in a flat on a hot day, but with a little patience and a zoomed out perspective we may get through it in a more graceful manner. I would like to write a book on HVAC repair and maintenance, and another book on life and how I see it through my lens. I’m just hoping that I can help ease the pain of people going through similar things as I. My a/c unit breaking down was just temporary, as this lovely HVAC tech was able to get out that day and fix it. And making a date with that pretty HVAC tech was a sign telling me that the illusion is not always what it seems.
