Most of the time on the weekend, I go down to the beach and play volleyball with my friends.
However, I recently injured my knee and I don’t want to go down there just to watch.
I worry that if I get too invested in the game, I’ll try to play, which will only make my injury worse. I asked a buddy of mine if he would like to get together. We both work as heating and cooling technicians, and he’s not much of a beach volleyball guy, so I figured he’s the perfect person to make plans with. I invited him to a local bar to watch a football game. The weather is supposed to be hot and humid, so I was hoping we could go somewhere indoors. This bar is nothing nice or fancy, but they have a really powerful air conditioning system. My buddy informed me that there is actually a food truck rodeo happening in the town tonight. It turns out that there will be more going on outside than in the bar, so I may need to brave the heat and get in on the action. A lot of the local businesses are open tonight because they will have a greater crowd than normal. It’s a great opportunity for local businesses to make money. My friend from the HVAC company was hoping to check that out, rather than going to the air conditioned bar. I was hoping to kick back and take it easy so that my knee could recover, but I suppose I will pop out with my friend for a little while and see what’s going on around town.
