Spring break bummer

When my sister was a senior in high school, my parents let her go on spring break.

She went to the shore with six of her friends, and they stayed with another group of young people.

When I turned 18, I expected to go to spring break as well. My parents tried to give me a hard time, and they didn’t want me to go without a chaperone. I reminded them of Lisa’s spring break trip, and they caved in immediately. My friend Felicia got her dad to rent a big Cabana on the beach. The weather was really beautiful, and the sky was blue without any clouds. The temperature was almost perfect. It wasn’t very humid, but it was definitely warm and sunny. I was looking forward to laying out on the beach. When we arrived to our destination, the owner greeted us at the property. He had some really bad news. The AC was broken, and it wouldn’t be fixed until later that day. He apologized for all of the trouble, but he couldn’t get anyone to fix the AC sooner. Since we were going to the beach anyway, it wasn’t a big deal to wait for the AC unit to be repaired. We dropped off our things inside, and headed out to the water. Felicia and I fell asleep, because we did most of the driving. By the time I woke up, I was red and burned by the Sun. I was really happy to head back to the Cabana and find the temperature ice cold. The AC must have been fixed, while we were down on the beach. It took three days for my sunburn to heal, but the rest of the week was a lot of fun.
