Temperature control helps with focus and concentration

When I was in college, I began having some trouble concentrating and staying focused on my studying.

I tried everything I could to resolve the problem.

I took vitamins as well as natural supplements. I tried studying at different times of the day and at different locations. Nothing seemed to help. I was on the brink of failing several classes and had nearly resigned myself to the fact that my ability to concentrate had diminished considerably. Then one day in February, I suddenly produced some of the best studying I had done in a very long time. I immediately tried to figure out what was different, and realized that it was the temperature. I had been doing my homework in warm environments that made me feel sluggish and allowed my mind to wander. On that particular day, I was focused on the task because it was much cooler than usual. I found out that the heating unit in the bookstore where I was reading wasn’t actually operating at maximum capacity. The room was only about sixty-eight degrees Farhenheit. In the course of this discovery, I realized that sixty-eight degrees is the perfect temperature for focus and concentration for me personally. So, from then on, I have kept the gas furnace on low in the fall and Winter seasons. I also run the air-conditioner on higher speeds in the Spring and summer months. My grades improved and I had more energy and was more productive all around. I now make sure to check the thermostat and temperature wherever I plan to do my work. HVAC maintenance is also a priority for my own heating and cooling equipment.
