We are not too far from falling headlong into Summer.
But first, we’re going to get another blast of grass pollen before that happens.
And then, come about the first of September, I’ll get another end of Summer blast of pollen. But this time, it will be ragweed and other flowering stuff that comes out at that time of the year. So it’s sort of like I get blasted with pollen just as the air conditioning jumps up. And again with the pollen blast just as the cooling demand begins to wane. Don’t even get me started with the tree pollen starting in February. If you have trouble with allergies, this can be a tough region in which to live. For me, I’ve just had to deal with it and grind through it since I was a kid. But this past Spring was remarkable because my suffering from allergies didn’t exist inside the zone controlled HVAC of the house. That’s because we finally saved up enough money to have the whole home air purification system installed. This air purifier is actually placed inside the HVAC unit. So it catches all the incoming air as it goes from the HVAC return to the air handler. And that’s right where the high intensity UV light blasts all the pollen along with every other airborne pollutant. Thus, I’m able to actually breathe and live my life normally once I’m inside the air conditioning. Thankfully, the air conditioning is pretty much on in our house once the temperatures outside hit 75. My wife is super sensitive to heat and I’m super sensitive to pollen. So having the air conditioning on early helps us both.
