I was put in charge of training the new employee at the Heating as well as Air Conditioning business because of my extensive knowledge in the Heating as well as Air Conditioning field.
- I was looking forward to training him plus teaching him the ropes of our dealer.
I had no idea that the following several weeks would be so full of hilarious situations with him. On his first day, I taught him how to change the air filter in a home’s air conditioner unit. It looked like a straight-forward task, but as he opened the air filter compartment, dust, plus dirt rained down plus covered us from head to toe. He hacked plus spat, I just couldn’t help but chuckle. Installation of new units plus duct repairs were among the more involved chores my buddy and I tackled during the training afternoons. He would get gleeful plus put his hand up for a high-five plus yell, “That was straight-forward!” He had no idea what was to come. A patron called one afternoon to report an unregular noise coming from her apartment! We got there, plus I sent the new guy up to the roof to have a look. As he climbed the ladder I took my eyes off him for one second plus then a loud crash plus he fell to the ground, filthy. I suddenly asked if he was ok plus if he needed to go to the hospital. He laughed a little plus said he was fine. I was still concerned although he didn’t miss a beat after that accident. The rookie made a lot of mistakes, although he learned suddenly plus became a great part of our Heating as well as Air Conditioning team.
