Tried to DIY our air conditioner installation and it was a massive failure

At the end of it, I learned more about air conditioning and what not to do and installed my quality air conditioner well

I moved back home a year after college. I was battling depression and needed to recover with people who loved me, which was impossible while working away from home. My parents had moved to a bigger house, but the spare bedroom did not have an air conditioner. I moved during the summer, so I couldn’t stay without getting help with indoor comfort. My dad made the search easy by taking us to the cooling corporation, where he buys HVAC equipment for his contracting projects. He left me in the hands of a cooling tech who told me that a mini split air conditioner would be perfect for the bedroom. I decided to do it on my own because I’d seen someone say that such a piece of cooling equipment was suitable for DIY. The cooling representative thought it was a bad idea, but, in my confidence, I told him it wouldn’t be too difficult. Two days later, I called the cooling specialist because I had made a mess and didn’t want my parents to know what I’d been up to. It was like my teenage days when I snuck away from home and tried to hide It from them. Such much fun! I lied that I had asked the cooling industry tech to help with the initial installation while he was coming for an air conditioning repair and installation. It was a mess that cost me a considerable chunk of the savings I had been trying to keep intact. At the end of it, I learned more about air conditioning and what not to do and installed my quality air conditioner well. Well, I’m never trying to DIY install anything again, but I will be handling the air conditioning maintenance activities that do not require an expert. At least to save some money.
