When my roomates and I all moved into our new house about a year ago, I felt like the luckiest person in the world because I was able to move into the basement. I had always wanted to live in a basement even when I was still living with my parents. I love the fact that rooms in the basement always have more privacy, and they also stay cooler than the rest of the rooms in the house. Other than not having any windows, I was in heaven for the first few months after we moved in. Once the season started to change and winter came around however, I was starting to regret my decision. The heating and cooling system was located in the main living area, and there wasn’t a vent system to bring that warm air down to the basement. After having a chat with my roomates at dinner one night, one of my buddies said that we should get Heating and cooling zone control in our home. With this installed, we would be able to keep all of the rooms in the home whatever temperature we wanted, and I would finally be able to adjust the temperature in the basement to a reasonable setting. The guys living upstairs who were getting too warm with rooms nearby the heating and cooling unit would be able to adjust their rooms to a cooler setting, all without getting on eachothers nerves. We all threw in some money to hire the HVAC ventilation, heating and cooling company, and ever since the installation was done we have been enjoying the winter much more. The coolest thing from my standpoint is that I no longer have to wear a winter coat to bed anymore!
