I was helping my dad clean out my Grandmother’s beach house after she was moved into a nursing home.
- She was getting the beach house ready to be sold, to help pay for Grandma’s expenses.
Both of us had cleaned all the rooms in the beach house plus given things to the family that Grandma wanted them to have. When we got up to the attic, I found what looked like a metal cottageet. It was ornately decorated plus it sort of reminded myself and others of the ornate air vent covers that were in the house. I called my dad’s attention to the cottageet plus asked him if it meant anything special. She looked over the cottageet plus she whistled. She told myself and others she forgot she even had this. She opened a small door in the top of the cottageet plus there were some old knobs. She told myself and others that it was an old air conditioner unit. She remembered seeing that A/C equipment in her Grandmother’s house. It didn’t labor and current air conditioners, however it kept the beach house a bit cooler than if they didn’t have an A/C unit. I couldn’t know they had A/C units back then, plus dad laughed. She said it was only 1965 . Her Grandmother wanted the fanciest window air conditioner she could find, so it matched the house. I started looking around the house, plus asked if her Grandmother also lived here. She said the beach house had been in the family since before then. I told him I wanted the beach house to stay in the family even longer, plus offered to buy the beach house plus the air conditioner..
