I manually repaired my HVAC system

Just last week I did something that I probably shouldn’t have done. It all started over a week ago with my heating and a/c system, it had been doing fine and then suddenly it stopped working. This was a surprising and frustrating experience, I quickly decided that I didn’t want to have a HVAC professional repair my broken cooling system. The way I saw it was the price was too much for something I figured I could do myself. I knew it was a risk, and it wouldn’t be an easy task, but with the right tools and equipment, I figured I would be able to get it done. My first course of action was to go to my local library and check out every book I could find on the HVAC industry and how to repair heating and cooling systems. I buried my nose in the books for days and studied before I felt ready to give it a try for myself. I had looked it over and over and at last I felt ready. I carefully opened up my air conditioning unit and wasted no time getting straight to work. It did take me some time to identify the problem, but once I knew, I knew what parts I would need to replace. It took me a few hours but in the end I fixed it. I told my friend about how I was able to successfully repair my own HVAC system, he was happy for me but told me the idea was dangerous and warned me I could have been electrocuted. I decided to listen to his warning and went with the professionals from that day onward.
