My Dog’s Adventure with Air Conditioning

About a month ago, I went to the shelter and adopted a new best friend. The shelter staff thinks she is part boxer and part lab. The rest is up in the air and no one really knows. Whatever she is, she is a lot of fun. I have always been an animal lover, and I have always had at least one dog throughout my adult life. Before my boxer, Frannie, I had a border collie named Scout that I got from the same shelter. Anyway, it is always a lot of fun to watch the dogs learn about things. Frannie is now discovering air conditioning. Apparently, wherever she lived before, there was no central heating and cooling. In fact, she may have never lived in a house for all we know. In any event, I am laughing my head off while watching her try to figure out the a/c. It is really hot outside, and I keep the thermostat set to 73 degrees. One day, she came running in from the backyard and happened to stand over the a/c air vent looking at me while I was making some food. All of a sudden, the a/c kicked on, and she got a belly full of cold air shooting up at her. She jumped a little, and got her nose down there on the a/c air vent to try to figure it out. This threw her into a case of puppy zoomies, and threw me into a fit of hysterical laughter. This was followed by a bunch of barking at the air conditioner. Then, when the air stopped coming out, she didn’t know what to think about that, either. My boxer versus the air conditioner is still a funny way to spend some time in my house.
