A couple of days ago I received a call for my husband that absolutely caught me by surprise! My husband has regularly been the sort of person who makes spontaneous decisions.
To be fair, that is one of the things that made me fall in love with him.
There’s a reason why I’ve stuck around for more than ten years! However, his spontaneity has also caused major surprises every so often as well… For example, when he called me a couple of days ago it was to inform me that he had decided that we needed a new heating plus cooling device for the entire house. He brought up the fact that we had been going back and forth with this plan for a few years now, and it was time to finally go ahead and put it into motion. I told him that we could talk about it that night to go over some things, but he told me that there was no need because he had already set an appointment with the HVAC supplier in the neighborhood for the same day. I couldn’t believe that my husband actually was getting ready to spend thousands of dollars of our money without even consulting me before scheduling the service! Because of the non-refundable deposit I ended up just rolling with the punches and letting him get away with another impulsive decision. Fortunately, the HVAC supplier was able to do fantastic work, plus he even managed to stay under the original cost estimate. Not to mention, the new heating and cooling system was actually really great. It turns out that even though this was an impulsive decision, I am glad my husband went ahead and made it happen.
