The thermostat in our house kept on changing temperatures and we did not know why.
It got to the point where I just started yelling at my husband about it because I was blaming him for making the indoor air quality so bad inside of the house.
We usually fight a lot about the temperature settings inside of the house because he is usually hot all the time and I am usually cold all the time. During the summer, we have a lot of issues because he wants to keep the air conditioning settings turned down to 65 degrees all summer long. I just don’t do well with that. It seems like during the summer, I should not have to walk around the house in a coat because the temperature is so cold. However, this time, he told me that he was not messing with the thermostat at all.I did not believe him at first, but then when he started blaming me for messing with it too, I realized that there must be something else going on. At one point, I started to think that our house was falling under something because I would set the thermostat in the evening and then by the morning it would be a completely different temperature. Eventually, I gave up and called up our local HVAC company and they asked me if the batteries may be going dead. He told me that sometimes if the thermostat does not have fresh batteries in it, then it can behave erratically. That was the problem after all.
