Cracks in the ranch ducts

My hubby and I are in the process of renovating a small farmhouse.

Fortunately, the little farmhouse was gifted to us through a family member, and we were enthusiastic about making it our own.

We both knew that we would need to put a whole lot of sweat and blood into the renovation to bring it back to life. Yet, we had intentions to paint the walls, polish the hardwood floors, & updaye or replace some of the fixtures. What we were not expecting, however, was a complete update of the heating and a/c system! On our first night at the farm house, my hubby and I noticed how frigid it got inside, no matter how many layers we dressed in. It felt like we were in the cold temperatures outside. My hubby tried raising the temperature on the thermostat, however it didn’t heat the home evenly. The furnace would run for fifteen minutes, then stop running for forty-five minutes, then it completed this cycle all night long, after struggling to stay comfortable that night, my hubby took action the following day. We spoke to an HVAC technician about updating the heating and a/c system completely. We wanted and needed something that would distribute heat evenly and efficiently. While the HVAC technician helped us select a newer model, he also suggested that we have sealed all the doors and windows, since the home was older and a lot of the heat was escaping. Neither of us had thought about that! Thankfully, with the new HVAC system and sealing the cracks, we are able to heat our current farmhouse much more easily..
