My handsome son-in-law is a really fantastic guy, however sometimes he has no patience. Ever since my hubby destruction his back, he hasn’t been able to lift the cooling system and put it into the window. We have 1 window cooling system for our entire house. It is all the two of us have since the two of us moved into this house, over twenty years ago. I love the window air conditioning unit. The two of us live in an section where night time is cool enough that air conditioning isn’t necessary. Without the AC, but, it would be genuinely uncomfortable while I was in the day thanks to all of the humidity. My daughter and her hubby have been helping to put the cooling system in the window for the past many years. This year, my son-in-law wasn’t in the mood to help. He told me that for $13000 the two of us could put central air conditioning in the house. If I had $5000 I may consider it, however not for a long time. Most central air conditioning needs to have HVAC duct if it is going to circulate throughout the house. I would need to hire a crew to install the HVAC duct and then only half of my beach house would be air conditioned. My specific house was built in sections over the decades. Before the two of us bought the place, the owners had built a resting room onto the house. It had been raised off the ground, however it was only about several inches off. There is no crawl space to install the HVAC duct. My son-in-law looked taken aback when I said this aloud. He apologized and said he was just in a pretty bad mood.
