My son-in-law is a pretty great guy, however occasionally he has no patience.
Ever since our husband disfigured his back, he hasn’t been able to lift the a/c plus put it into the window.
We have a single window a/c for our entire house. It is all both of us have since both of us moved into this house, over twenty two years ago. I love the window air conditioner unit. We live in a section where evening time is cool enough that air conditioner isn’t necessary. Without the AC, but, it would be absolutely uncomfortable during the day because of the humidity. My child as well as her husband have been helping to put the a/c in the window for the past couple of years. This year, our son-in-law wasn’t in the mood to help. He told myself and others that for $5000 both of us could put a central air conditioner in the house. If I had $5000 I may consider it, however not for long. Central air conditioner needs to have ductwork if it is going to circulate throughout the house. I would need to hire a crew to install the ductwork and later only half of our house would be air conditioned. Our house was built in sections over the decades. Before both of us bought the house, the owners had built a sitting room onto the house. It had been raised off the ground, but it was only about 6inches off. There is no crawl section to install the ductwork. My son-in-law looked taken aback when I said this out loud. He apologized plus said he was just in a poor mood.
