It was great that the HVAC technician was able to get to us the same day.
I wasn’t so sure about whether that would be possible or not. And besides, a night without air conditioning wouldn’t have killed anyone. Now staying at home during the heat of the day with no HVAC cooling would have been miserable. But a night without air conditioning? We could handle it. However, I have to say that I let out a sigh of relief when I saw that van pull up outside with the HVAC company logo on it. This was the first air conditioning breakdown we had experienced since buying our house. When we bought it, we had to replace the HVAC equipment. And I think we sort of fell into a trap mindset about the HVAC unit. It really was sort of unsaid, but we just considered it new HVAC equipment for far too long. And we didn’t get the proper HVAC maintenance for it as we should have. We were very inconsistent about that. And I didn’t even make a point of changing the HVAC air filter on time either. It was just a total lack of regard for the HVAC unit. That recent HVAC breakdown was a wake up call for me. It was money that I didn’t need to spend and it was my fault. So the next day, I called the HVAC company and signed up for the HVAC service plan. We won’t miss another HVAC maintenance appointment that’s for sure. And I set alerts across all of my devices to remind me to change the HVAC air filter every month as well.
