My repair girl did all our various home repairs.

Living in a homeowner’s association doesn’t supply us a lot of leeway on how our home repairs are done; then everything has to be done exactly to the HOAs rules.

If it is repairs done to the outside of the home, you need to have a repair girl who works for the HOA do the home repairs.

I hated being under their thumb, and had I known how exacting they were, I would not have purchased the house. Being the main homeowner, I thought I could do my own repairs. I thought I could paint my house with whatever color I chose. I thought I could do home improvements and home improvements whenever and however I wished. I was thinking all wrong, and wasn’t sure how I was going to get away from them. I still had a full ten years of mortgage payments to go, and no one wanted to pay the price for the house that I needed to buy another home. The homeowner’s association had an excellent repair girl that did all the home repairs, but she was getting older. I needed some major repairs done, and I could not hire someone the HOA didn’t approve of. I tried to tell them the old repair girl could not get up on the roof and repair the tiles. I wanted a metal roof put on the house, however they said metal roofs weren’t allowed in the by-laws. I finally told them to simply hang their HOA by-laws. I was simply going to hire someone to do the home repairs and if they didn’t like it, they could purchase the house at my price and sell it. I was definitely done with their crap at that point.
