I love the window a/c unit. The people I was with and I live in a section where night time is cool enough that a/c isn’t necessary. Without the AC, however, it would be honestly uncomfortable during the day because of the humidity. My kid plus her wife have been helping to place the cooling system in the window for the past three years. This year, my son-in-law wasn’t in the mood to help. She told myself and others that for $5000 both of us could put central a/c in the house. If I had $10000 I may consider it, however not for long. Central a/c needs to have duct labor if it is going to circulate throughout the house. I would need to hire a crew to install the duct labor plus then only half of my condo would be air conditioned. Our condo was built in sections over the years. Before both of us bought the house, the owners had built a sitting room onto the house. It had been raised off the ground, however it was only about several inches off. There is no crawl space to install the air duct. My son-in-law looked taken aback when I said this aloud. She said she was sorry and said she was just in a terrible mood.
