My lastborn Nelly had been talking non-stop about her oncoming play that it was not possible to miss it for anything.
- She would cry herself for days if her mom missed the play and I was not about to make that mistake.
I took my day off in advance and was ready for the performance. I ran a few errands in the morning hours since the play would happen in the afternoon. I made sure to arrive early to get a good spot to be able to see Nelly. She smiled at me when the team finally got on stage. All the little kindergarten kids were adorable in her little outfits. My Nelly, was the star of the show and I must confess she outdid herself. I was glad I made it to the show,which was a first of many. Her dad is the one who came to this since I had one of the most pressing jobs. I had promised Nelly to be here and I was glad I did. However, I noticed that everyone in the hall kept fanning themselves with a piece of paper. The hall was tastefully decorated, and a few ceiling fans were running. I could also hear the sound of the AC from a distance. I wondered if the HVAC system was poor and inefficient. I later talked to the principal who was a friend and he noted with concern about the discomfort the parents had to endure. After a few days, i had even forgotten about the issue, my friend called me to apologize. It turns out that no one remembered to change the direction of the fan setting after winter was over. The air conditioner worked just fine but the fans were blowing cool air away from the room. The issue was fixed and the next event would be more comfortable.
