Running Your own Local Business Isn't Always Easy

Anyone who has ever run their own local business knows that it isn’t easy.

Not only do you have to worry about the day-to-day operations of your business, but you also have to contend with the never-ending list of maintenance tasks that come with owning a commercial property.

One of the most important (and often overlooked) items on that list is the HVAC system. A properly functioning HVAC system is crucial for keeping your customers and employees comfortable, and it can also help to extend the life of your equipment and furnishings. However, keeping your HVAC system in good working order can be a challenge. Air filters need to be replaced regularly, cooling coils need to be cleaned, and ductwork needs to be inspected for leaks. If you don’t have the time or expertise to handle these tasks yourself, you may need to hire a professional HVAC contractor. But even if you do have to invest in some outside help, taking care of your HVAC system will pay off in the long run. I ran my own local HVAC business for ten years and had a great time doing so but when it came time to shift gears and do something totally different I was ready for the change. Some people stay in the same line of work their whole life, such as my dad and his HVAC company, even though they have lost all passion for doing so. This is mostly due to the fear of failure and change, but I think it is worth the risk of trying something new.
