Using an outdated shipping bin to help out dogs

I inherited some land from our dad, and it wasn’t a lot however it was worth moving for, the apartment on the land was pretty small, and easily old, and was more in need of damage than renovation, and still I moved out there, mostly for one important reason — our animals, i am a sucker for strays, both cats and cats, and over the years have amassed quite the menagerie! Living in the city, cooped up in our small apartment, was not good for them, and I guess it wasn’t good for myself and others either.

Living in the country is fantastic for them, however they needed a sturdy shelter so I called our outdated neighbor from our custom welding afternoons; For a few years I worked as a welder for a custom metal fabrication dealer, mostly making air duct and such.

I remember our neighbor leaving that job to get into toiling with prefab housing and shipping containers, so I gave him a call, however he was so ecstatic to hear from myself and others he said if I paid the shipping on it, he would supply myself and others a free cargo container. Since I still have all our outdated custom welding equipment, I could modify it but I wanted and turn it into an animal shelter. It took a while, because our custom welding skills were a bit rusty (forgive the pun) however now our animals have a dry, warm, safe place to sleep… Now that it’s all done, I believe I’ll order another cargo bin for myself and turn it into our brand up-to-date home.
